Eagles Close Season with Semifinal Loss
Few words can describe the ending to Apple Valley’s
season. It came at the hands of the Eastview Lightning
on Saturday night. The Apple Valley Eagles played
visitors to cross-town rival, Eastview, at the Sectional
3 Semi-Final game. It was one of those games where
Apple Valley could not get on track and Eastview
dominated in all aspects. There was hope going into the
third quarter as the Lightning were winning only by two
touchdowns at half. However, bad went to worse as
Eastview continued to put points on the board and the
game ended 35 to 0.
To
the seniors this will be the last football game suited
up as an Apple Valley Eagle and for many the last
football game ever. The underclassman will start
building for next year and creating memories of another
season in the valley. As with life, it is not always
about winning but carrying your head high as you know
you gave all you had on the field, at practice and in
the weight room. That is what “Friday Night Lights” is
all about. Now these young men will take these
important life lessons and truly become stronger men
because of them.

Apple Valley Stadium Walk of Fame
Walk of Fame bricks
– You may have noticed bricks in the giant ‘AV’ near the
concession area with the names of Apple Valley
supporters (kids also, if you wish) engraved in them.
It’s been a few years since we have offered an
opportunity to ‘sponsor a brick’, but we are doing it
again this year. We also plan to really spruce up the
area, including painting the ‘AV’ outline and staining
the concrete our school colors so the Walk will be much
more prominent. Cost for a brick is only $100 or $200,
depending on the size of brick, and we take care of
everything for you. Immortalize your support of Valley
sports. Complete and return the attached form to
participate. Orders must be in no later than
August 8 to have your brick in place for the upcoming
season. Spread the word to your friends and
neighbors!
